Caritasverband Dortmund e.V. Energy-saving check

This is us

The energy-saving check is a joint service of the German Caritas Association (DCV) and the Federal Association of Energy and Climate Protection Agencies in Germany (Bundesverband der Energie- und Klimaschutzagenturen Deutschlands e. V.).

Our team consists of 18 employees subject to social security contributions and 24 AGH workers (Arbeitsgelegenheit mit Mehraufwandsentschädigung) persons.

Our goals

The primary aim is to reduce energy consumption in low-income households and thus reduce their costs. The project also makes an important contribution to environmental and climate protection, which is why it is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. At the same time, long-term unemployed people are given the chance to re-enter working life through their work as energy-saving helpers.

In addition to the core energy advice, we also advise on resource-saving behavior in the household and give tips on waste avoidance.
