What is the German Children's Fund?

The German Children's Fund has been working for children in Germany for more than 50 years. Children's rights - which have been the law in Germany since 1992 - form the basis for this. Promoting and implementing them in society and in politics are the starting points for our work. The German Children's Fund supports children's and youth projects with its various development funds. The aim of the development funds is to improve the living environment of children and young people in terms of participation.

What is supported

  • Projects are funded from donations

  • Permanent funding topics are children's politics, play spaces, media skills and children's culture

  • The focus of the project should be on the participation of children and young people in as many project areas as possible (planning to implementation)

Who can apply for funding

Children and young people (with the support of an adult) can apply for funding. Associations, citizens' initiatives, non-profit organizations, youth initiatives, student councils or children's and youth parliaments are also eligible for funding.
