This is us

With its 1,600 members, TV Mengede is one of the ten largest sports clubs in Dortmund.

From what was once a traditional gymnastics club in the Jahn style, in which only gymnastics was practiced with the formalisms that were common in earlier times, it has developed into today's multi-sports club, in which fans of a wide variety of sports have found their home. With Taekwondo, Kung-Fu, Hapkido and Tai Chi Chuan alone, there are four disciplines with Far Eastern origins that are offered by experienced trainers and are very popular.

Gymnastics and athletics are among the "classic" sports that have had a firm place at TV Mengede since it was founded in 1890. It must be said, however, that gymnastics, like aerobics, focuses on gymnastics. Whether it's handball, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton or street field hockey, lovers of the big and small round games will get their money's worth here.

The same applies to health sports, where the club offers a wide range of activities for anyone interested.

TV Mengede offers a home for young and old. The club's more than 300 senior citizens are looked after by an elected senior citizens' advisory board. Lectures, hikes, bike tours and day trips by bus are all part of the program. The club's young people also have their own committee. The annual children's Christmas party and youth camps lasting several days in the summer have been among the highlights in recent years.
