Although Haus Bodelschwingh was still a simple two-room house in the late Middle Ages, today it makes quite an impression. It is considered the largest and most prestigious aristocratic residence in the city. Descendants of the builders still live in the castle today, which is why it is not normally open to visitors. However, events such as the Christmas flair or the garden flair take place in the castle park. Incidentally, the castle park used to be much larger, as can still be seen from the family burial site of the lords of the castle, which is located west of the A45 in Bodelschwingher Wald.

Tip: Once a year, you can also see the castle from the inside: guided tours are offered on Open Monument Day.
