Swap Cupboard "Tauschschrank" Westerfilde & Bodelschwingh

A new children's toy without buying it? Replace an old book with a new one? Or give the kettle a new home?

Thanks to the swap cupboard, none of this is a problem!

The idea

We all have things at home that we no longer use, but which are also too good to throw away. To prevent these items from simply being thrown away or lying around unused, there is the swap cupboard.

Here you can make your things available to other people and discover new "gems" for yourself at the same time. At the same time, you are doing something good for the environment by reducing waste.

The swap cupboard is open to the public and can be used free of charge.

The idea was launched by a committed resident of the neighborhood. Together with the "DoNaPart" project and with financial support from the district fund, the "swap cupboard" project was realized.

The rules

Even if the name suggests otherwise: Swapping is not compulsory! You can spontaneously take things out of the cupboard, but you can also just add new things. All options are welcome.

There are also a few other rules:

  • The items you bring should be clean and in working order.

  • Garbage, broken items or food do not belong in the swap cupboard.

  • Items should be placed individually in the cupboard (no bags or sacks).

  • For books: Please only hand in books that are in good condition and up to date .

(Good condition means that they are clean and odorless, not creased, damaged or painted/labeled).

The exchange cupboard is located in the entrance area of the Neighborhood Management on Westerfilder Straße and is accessible during office hours.
